For Mansfield Towns home game against Gateshead today they allowed fans to pay what they wanted to come through the turnstiles. It was a huge success, they doubled their average attendance pulling in more than 7000 fans. Usually tickets are £16, theleast anyone payed was 3p the most wa £50.
Not only was it brave of Mansfield to take such a risk, but it was a great testament to the people of Mansfield that they came out to show their support.
A crowd of nearly 8000 for the team 96th in the English league system, says everything for the love of football in the UK.
Surely England 2018 has to happen.
